Anniversary Video Contest: Winners!

 

Walt Disney said it best: "I can never stand still. I must explore and experiment." And while it's true that Walt was pushing the envelope long before YouTube, we thought it would be fun to celebrate our inaugural year with a FIRST ANNIVERSARY VIDEO CONTEST! So we asked you to pick up your cameras and get the creative juices flowing to create a one-of-a-kind promotional video -- and possibly win one of three prizes! 

It was a tough decision as we had many creative entries, but after a lot of thought and deliberation, the tally is in and we're proud to announce our winners...! 

GRAND PRIZE WINNER:

Congratulations to Ray Bailey for creating the winning promotional video for The Walt Disney Family Museum's First Anniversary Video Contest! We absolutely loved the concept and nostalgic tone, and for that, Ray will receive a personal tour (for four) at the Museum, a personalized video editing or animation/claymation class in our Learning Center Media Studio, a Kodak Playsport camera, dinner for two at La Terasse in the Presidio, a dual membership to the Museum, and so much more. Congratulations, Ray!

SECOND PRIZE WINNER

It takes a lot of guts and determination to fill Walt's shoes, but Charlie Wood held his own in his creative video submission. Frankie Fox? Andy Anteater? Genius! Congratulations to Charlie who won free admission and a one-year membership to the Museum, lunch for two at the Cafe, and an autographed copy of our book among other goodies. 

THIRD PRIZE WINNER

The Walt Disney Family Museum was created to honor a man--an innovator, movie maker, family man and friend--and this video by Andres Gonzalez does just that. The way he combined text and imagery really showcased the man, the magic and the memories. Congratulations!

HONORABLE MENTION: 

The Staff here at the Museum couldn't get enough of this video by Chris Pavlou, but unfortunately we could not count it in our video contest as it features content for which we do not own the copyright. But it was so well made and creative, that we just have to share it with you!

Whether you’re a first time visitor, or a frequent guest we know by name, here’s a new way to look and learn in The Walt Disney Family Museum: Enter our WHERE’S WALT? CONTEST during the month of October and be eligible to win a PRIVATE SCREENING of a classic Disney film for you and 50 of your friends in our theater. Clever clues in all 10 galleries will help you navigate the hunt –we’ll throw your entry into a drawing – and on November 1, we’ll select a winner.
