The Pirates of the Caribbean

Well, with today being "Talk Like a Pirate" day, we asked Disney historian Paul Anderson about some of the most well-known and beloved pirates of all time, the Pirates of the Caribbean.  Paul graciously accepted our request and put together this essay on the history of the ride:
