Where in the World is The Walt Disney Family Museum?

The stars aligned in 2009 when The Walt Disney Family Museum opened in The Presidio of San Francisco. We in the Bay Area have in our backyard a place that tells the story of one of the most celebrated persons of the 20th century. So for me, being able to volunteer at The Walt Disney Family Museum is both a gift and an honor. A few times a month, whenever I can make the drive up from San Jose for the day, I can’t help but be grateful as I proudly don the black attire and purple vest, get in the car, and set my iPod for one of my Disney playlists. It feels like a mini-vacation.
So when it came time for my husband and me to decide where to take our recent vacation, it was not a tough choice at all. The Disney Wonder moved to the West Coast, and since early 2011, it calls Los Angeles its winter home, offering seven-day trips to the Mexican Riviera. Near the end of March, we were thrilled to take our first of what I hope will be many Disney cruises. It was a magical week of wonderful shows, amazing food, and most of all, a joy-filled crew.
While at sea, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity to share our love of The Walt Disney Family Museum by sporting WDFM gear at every opportunity. As a result, most photos from our trip have one or both of us in our WDFM tee shirt, sweatshirt or ball cap. Great fun!
The stars are aligning again in 2011, and this week, the Disney Wonder will begin offering its summer itineraries to Alaska—and as they reposition the vessel to their summer port home, the Wonder will make an overnight stop in San Francisco.
On Friday, Museum visitors will be mingling with the passengers and crew from one of the most beautiful ships afloat, as they visit The Walt Disney Family Museum. Welcome Aboard!

Do you have WDFM logo wear? Do you wear it proudly? The next time you are donning your logo wear (tee-shirt, sweatshirt, hat, etc), snap a picture of yourself. Going on vacation? Take your logo wear with you and snap a pic of yourself wearing it next to a famous landmark. Either way, email those photos our way (storyboard@wdfmuseum.org) and we will post them here at Storyboard!
